Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Ruby Developer to join a collaborative team delivering scalable Ruby/Rails applications. You will drive architecture, data management with PostgreSQL, and testing practices while mentoring engineers.

The role is hybrid with office visits across Wroclaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw, Katowice, Lodz, or Poznan, and offers growth opportunities in AI and cloud modernization within Poland.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional Ruby development experience
• Minimum of one year in a people management or team leadership position
• Proficiency with Docker for containerization
• Familiarity with Redis for caching or real-time data
• Exposure to ClickHouse for analytics or logging
• Frontend basics with JavaScript and frameworks (React, Angular, Vue)
• Experience with background job processors like Sidekiq or RabbitMQ
• Understanding CI/CD pipelines and Git version control
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent English, written and spoken (B2+)

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable Ruby/Rails web apps
• Optimize data management with PostgreSQL and direct SQL when needed
• Maintain robust testing with RSpec and TDD/BDD
• Provide technical leadership as Tech Lead or Team Lead
