Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED seeks a QA Engineering Manager to build and lead a QA Engineering function. You will drive automation strategy, own frameworks, and collaborate with Engineering, DevOps and Production to ship stable, testable builds across Witcher 4 and beyond.

With at least 5 years in games or software and a strong engineering background, you will mentor a growing team, shape QA processes, and ensure high-quality releases in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the games or software industry in a similar role (Engineering Lead/Manager, Tech Lead/Manager, Senior/Principal Engineer leading a team).
• Strong engineering background with the ability to understand code, designs and architecture decisions.
• Demonstrated experience developing or overseeing automated test frameworks, ideally for engine-based projects (Unreal Engine is a strong plus).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build farms, automated deployments and integrating automated tests into development workflows.
• Experience writing scripts or tools (e.g., Python, TypeScript, C#) for automation or process improvements.
• Experience with Unreal Engine, its tools, frameworks, and processes connected to the UE environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the QA Engineering team with initial focus on Witcher 4 and scalable cross-project solutions.
• Evolve the QA Engineering strategy to support current needs and studio-wide capabilities.
• Oversee automation frameworks, tools and diagnostics used by QA and development teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps and Production to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Define metrics for QA Engineering and drive continuous improvements based on data.
• Identify and implement tooling improvements that enhance testability and observability across projects.
• Guide, mentor and develop QA Engineers and support senior technical staff growth.
• Plan and allocate resources for QA Engineering initiatives balancing short-term priorities with long-term investments.
• Communicate status, impact and roadmap across QA, Tech and Production.
