Job summary

Frontiers seeks a Platform Engineering Manager to lead the IAM and Messaging services platform. You will own delivery, technical direction, and people development for a 5–8 engineer team, balancing feature work with reliability and security.

You'll partner with a Platform Product Manager to translate roadmaps into actionable plans while safeguarding platform health and backward compatibility.

Qualifications

• Management experience: minimum 4+ years directly managing engineering teams.
• Delivery track record: proven delivery of backend/platform/infrastructure services.
• Technical depth: guidance on authentication/messaging infra; review architecture with seniors.
• Reliability & delivery practices: cloud, CI/CD, SLA/SLO adherence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IAM and Messaging team day-to-day, overseeing operations and resource allocation.
• Turn roadmap into execution; align with Platform Product Manager for feasible plans.
• Own team delivery for authentication, messaging, and related infrastructure.
• Guide technical direction with Senior Engineers and review architecture proposals.
• Develop people: set expectations, provide feedback, support career growth.
• Own reliability and operational excellence: SLAs/SLOs, incident management, post-incident follow-through.
• Improve processes to increase delivery efficiency and reliability across the portfolio.
• Represent the team cross-functionally and manage risks with senior leadership.
