Job summary

Asana is seeking an Engineering Manager to blend strong technical judgment with people leadership, building the Platform Reliability team and defining a roadmap to keep Asana resilient at scale.

You will collaborate with platform, infra, and product teams across locations to embed reliability in architecture and delivery, while coaching engineers and raising the bar for execution and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering management, backend or reliability-focused teams.
• Strong software engineering background with leadership.
• Experience in building and operating cloud-native services and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to coach engineers and raise execution.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new Platform Reliability team and set collaboration standards.
• Define roadmaps for reliability systems like load shedding, rate limiting, and circuit breakers.
• Establish best-in-class incident response, postmortems, and risk management through SLOs.
• Embed reliability into architecture and delivery from the start of initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end projects from scoping to rollout with thoughtful tradeoffs.
