Job summary

Frontiers is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer — Internal Developer Platform to build and run the IDP, shaping AI-first delivery across Stream-Aligned Teams. You will own a capability end to end and craft guardrails, templates, and self-service tooling that accelerate safe software delivery.

You will collaborate with the Platform Product Manager and Senior Cloud Architect to translate strategy into working capabilities, while modernizing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code across Azure

Qualifications

Full-stack software engineering background with production experience.

Responsibilities

Build and operate the IDP: golden paths, self-service templates, the developer portal (Backstage) and IDP catalog, and guardrails that keep teams compliant by default.
Own CI/CD and GitOps: GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions; migrate off Azure DevOps; implement ArgoCD for AKS.
Provision cloud infrastructure as code: evolve Azure (AKS, networking, databases, APIM, Key Vault, Entra ID) with Terraform and Helm; manage reliability and FinOps.
Improve observability & reliability: instrument systems (NewRelic, Grafana), define SLOs, reduce toil, and drive monitoring-cost accountability.
Advance AI-First Delivery and the ADP: build agent-ready context (MCP, Technology Framework), path definitions, and agent governance.
Own a capability area end to end and set the standard: take a platform domain from design to run, define reference patterns and ADRs.
Build for adoption, like a product: write docs that work, gather feedback from teams, and partner with Platform PM on priorities.
