HSBC Holdings plc in Kraków is seeking a senior leader to head Production Engineering for Payments across Europe. You will guide real-time and ACH systems, ensure secure, performant operations, and support global heads from India.

Lead a 24x7 follow-the-sun model and drive engineering excellence across regions. You will build and mentor a high-calibre team, manage major incidents, and collaborate with AP and NA counterparts to deliver resilient payment platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
• Deep understanding of application, storage, OS, network, database, and infra layers.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps and hands-on production support.
• Experience leading globally distributed tech teams in a 24x7 setting.
• Excellent communication; capable of leading technical discussions and crisis calls.
• Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders during incidents and outages.
• Experience with heterogeneous infrastructure and resilience models.
• Expertise in incident and problem management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional leads to ensure service levels are met.
• Provide Europe coverage for Payments production escalations.
• Ensure capability functions are structured and deliver against plans.
• Manage Major incidents as Incident Commander or Liaison Officer with updates.
• Collaborate with AP and NA counterparts in Production Engineering.
• Help recruit and retain a high-calibre, diverse team and foster meritocracy.
• Establish career paths and mobility opportunities for team members.
• Be accountable for production availability, stability and resiliency of critical platforms.
