Job summary

Outokumpu Chrome Oy in Katowice seeks an experienced NOC Manager to build and lead the Network Operations Center, ensuring stable, secure IT operations. You will guide transitions from external providers to internal teams, developing a high-performing NOC organization.

You will manage daily NOC activities, coach engineers, coordinate on-call coverage, and drive continuous improvement including automation and AI opportunities to boost efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a Network Operations Centre or IT Operations environment.
• Proven track record leading technical support or operations teams.
• Knowledge of network technologies and tools (Palo Alto, Aruba, EfficientIP).
• Industry certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop the NOC function with the Head of Compute and Network team.
• Lead daily NOC operations, ensuring service availability against KPIs.
• Manage incidents, alerts, and events; act as escalation point.
• Lead, coach, and develop NOC Engineers, including performance reviews.
• Manage team rotas, on-call arrangements, and operational reporting.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Request management.
• Drive root cause analysis, improvement, automation and AI opportunities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to reduce risks.

We are looking for a NOC Manager to build and lead our Network Operations Center function, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient IT operations. You will play a key role in transitioning services from third-party providers to an internal team and building a high-performing NOC organisation.

What you will do:

• Build and develop the NOC function together with the Head of Compute and Network team, including hiring and onboarding NOC Engineers.
• Lead daily NOC operations, ensuring service availability and performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Manage incidents, alerts, and events, acting as the escalation point for major incidents.
• Lead, coach, and develop NOC Engineers, including performance management and resource planning.
• Manage team rotas, on-call arrangements, and operational reporting.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management).
• Drive root cause analysis, continuous improvement, automation, and AI opportunities to improve NOC efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to manage risks and improve service reliability.

What we are looking for:

• Significant experience in a Network Operations Centre or IT Operations environment.
• Previous experience leading technical support or operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of network technologies and tools, including Palo Alto, Aruba, and EfficientIP.
• Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
• Industry certifications are an advantage.
