Job summary

Qualifications

Overview of the Role

As a MicroStrategy BI Developer/Consultant at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions that empower data-driven decision-making for our global clients. This position is vital in ensuring high-quality BI deliverables, stable report and dashboard functionality, and smooth migrations across client environments. You will contribute to HCLTech’s reputation for delivering robust, scalable, and innovative analytics solutions.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize MicroStrategy schema objects, reports, dashboards, dossiers, and application/public objects to meet business requirements.
• Build and implement transaction services and support the full lifecycle of BI solutions from concept through deployment.
• Execute migrations and conversions of BI assets across customer environments, ensuring accuracy and minimal downtime during transitions.
• Support enhancements, troubleshoot and resolve defects, and participate in release verification activities to maintain high service quality.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including deployment checklists, migration packs, schema updates, handover notes, and reusable assets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in knowledge transfer (KT) and shadowing sessions during project transitions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards and best practices for QA and BI migration discipline.

Skill Requirements

• Proven experience in MicroStrategy development, including schema/report/dashboard/dossier creation and optimization.
• Proficiency with MicroStrategy Object Manager and Command Manager tools.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data modeling concepts.
• Hands-on exposure to enterprise databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Teradata, or Hive.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in supporting BI solution deployments, defect management, and release cycles.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Other Requirements (Optional)

• Working knowledge of Python and HTML is advantageous.
• Experience in QA processes and BI migration discipline is a plus.
• Certifications in MicroStrategy or related BI tools are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
