Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Dashboard Designer to transform complex business questions into intuitive dashboards and reporting assets for web and mobile platforms.

You will build BI assets using MicroStrategy, Tableau, and Power BI while applying UX/UI principles and data storytelling to support decision making. Strong SQL and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Data Analytics or related field.
• Proven experience designing and building dashboards, dossiers, and BI visuals.
• Strong UX/UI principles for data visualization.
• Hands-on MicroStrategy; awareness of Tableau and Power BI.
• Knowledge of mobile BI development.
• Proficiency in SQL and data literacy.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and requirements gathering.
• Experience creating user docs and training materials.

Overview of the Role

As a Dashboard Designer at HCLTech, you will play a critical role in transforming complex business questions into intuitive, impactful dashboards and visual storytelling assets. Your work will drive data-driven decision-making, enhance stakeholder engagement, and ensure that analytics solutions are user-centric, visually compelling, and aligned with business objectives. Detailed Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable dashboard, dossier, and reporting solutions.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards, dossiers, and reporting experiences that adhere to best practices in UX/UI and data visualization.
• Apply visualization and storytelling principles to present data in clear, insightful, and engaging ways for both web and mobile platforms.
• Build, test, and optimize BI assets using tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, and Power BI, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Prepare wireframes, visual standards, user guides, walkthrough materials, and adoption feedback summaries to support solution rollouts and user training.
• Facilitate stakeholder walkthroughs, gather feedback, and drive the adoption of BI solutions across the organization.
• Ensure all dashboard and reporting solutions comply with analytics governance, data security, and performance requirements.
• Continuously monitor and refine visualization standards to reduce dashboard clutter and improve decision support.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and building dashboards, dossiers, and business intelligence visualizations.
• Strong knowledge of UX/UI principles as applied to data visualization.
• Hands-on expertise with MicroStrategy; awareness of Tableau and Power BI.
• Understanding of mobile app development for BI solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL and solid data literacy skills.
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of effective stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering.
• Experience in preparing user documentation and training materials.

Other Requirements (Optional)

• Relevant BI or data visualization certifications (e.g., MicroStrategy Certified, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Power BI Certification).
• Experience in agile or iterative development environments.
• Prior exposure to enterprise analytics governance frameworks.
