Job summary

OPmobility is seeking a Senior Component Engineer/Engineering Manager to lead the Component Engineering team in a global mobility-focused organization. You will drive design, validation and supplier collaboration across automotive-like programs, balancing performance, cost, manufacturability and quality.

The role requires aMechanical Engineering degree, experience in automotive or related industries, and strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
• Experience in automotive, railway or other complex manufacturing industries is expected.
• Strong understanding of product design, validation, manufacturing processes and Design-to-Cost principles.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Component Engineering team, ensuring effective resource planning and successful project execution.
• Drive the design, development and validation of components, balancing performance, manufacturability, cost and quality requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and support the delivery of innovative engineering solutions.
• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to support product development and continuous improvement.
• Benchmark competitors, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to support continuous improvement and ensure compliance.
• Oversee engineering processes, methodologies and best practices across the team.
• Manage departmental resources and budget while ensuring project objectives are achieved.
• Build and maintain a collaborative team culture that encourages accountability, knowledge sharing and continuous development.
