Job summary

Aristocrat seeks a Lead Accountant - Asset Capitalisation to own end-to-end capitalisation and fixed asset accounting in Kraków. You will ensure accurate capex recognition per IFRS/GAAP, and drive governance and controls across regions.

You will partner with Commercial Finance and development teams on capex vs expense decisions, oversee project accounting, depreciation, and asset movements, and lead audit engagements with clear documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financial accounting experience with asset capitalisation and project accounting.
• Strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge for PPE and intangible assets.
• Ability to apply judgement to complex capitalisation decisions and communicate outcomes.
• Experience in large, multinational environments with high capex volumes.
• Robust financial governance, control practices and audit readiness.
• Proven ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end asset capitalisation processes and timely recognition of capex per standards.
• Partner with Commercial Finance and software teams on capex vs expense decisions.
• Oversee project accounting lifecycle: development assets, transfers, disposals, and depreciation.
• Review capitalisation assessments and apply judgement on non-standard transactions.
• Maintain fixed asset register integrity with audit trails and reporting.
• Support month/year-end close, including journals and reconciliations.
• Ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.
• Lead audit engagements for fixed assets and capex processes.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Project teams on governance and setup.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Provide leadership to junior staff and build asset accounting capability.
• Deliver reporting on capex, asset movements, and depreciation for decision-making.
