Job summary

Moniepoint is seeking a Head of Engineering for the POS Application Platform in Poland. You will own the architecture and technical strategy of the POS platform, guiding platform pillars such as developer experience, reliability, and governance across multiple OEM devices.

You will lead embedded engineers across Payments, Onboarding, VAS, Savings, and Loans squads, driving observability and cross-squad tooling adoption. Deep Android, Java/Spring, and fintech experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 6+ years leading teams.
• Hands-on POS device software experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of EMV, PCI DSS and P2PE.
• Android engineering expertise (Kotlin/Java) on device software.
• Experience building internal platforms, libraries, and tooling.
• Governing multiple POS device types across OEMs.
• Scale-focused platform engineering leadership.
• Fintech/regulated environment experience preferred.
• Familiarity with terminal management systems and observability tooling.
• Java/Spring Boot backend experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for the POS Application Platform.
• Lead platform pillars: developer experience, reliability, frameworks, and adoption.
• Define engineering standards across POS devices and OEMs.
• Direct embedded POS engineers across squads and maintain platform health.
• Spearhead observability, monitoring, and incident response end-to-end.
• Architect onboarding and integration for new device types.
• Build and scale the platform team with growth across markets.
• Translate platform decisions into business impact with leadership teams.
