Job summary

WhyHireWrong? in Krakow seeks a Head of Software Engineering to own the entire platform engineering function. You will lead a distributed org of 50+ engineers across Europe, reporting to the CTPO.

This role is ownership-wide, not IC, focused on strategy, standards, and modernization at scale. The ideal candidate has led large engineering organizations, delivered platform harmonization, and driven post-acquisition integration.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, distributed engineering teams across geographies.
• Proven ability to set engineering strategy and standards at scale.
• Experience with post-acquisition integration is valued.
• Based in or relocatable to Poland (Krakow region) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the software engineering organization across multiple European sites (~50+ engineers).
• Set engineering strategy, standards, and modernization roadmap for the platform.
• Drive post-acquisition integration: technical due diligence and onboarding of acquired teams.
• Lead platform harmonization and modernization of legacy applications across a multi-brand group.
• Partner with product, commercial, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
• Build a high-trust, high-velocity engineering culture across geographies.
