Job summary

TechTree is seeking an experienced Head of Software Engineering to lead 50+ engineers across Europe. You will shape engineering strategy, mentor managers, and drive alignment with the CTPO on priorities and scaling for an enterprise SaaS platform.

You will oversee modernization initiatives, foster a high-performing culture, and ensure secure, scalable systems while collaborating with Product teams across brands. Hybrid work from Cracow, Poland, is offered.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Software Engineering to lead all software engineering activities for the platform. You will oversee 50+ software engineers across Europe, with the team expected to grow as we scale. This role is central to shaping how we build, evolve, and run our products - working closely with the CTPO to define and execute the group's engineering vision, and influencing how teams collaborate, deliver, and modernize the platform for enterprise customers.

What you'll do

Lead and mentor engineering managers across several European locations, fostering strong delivery performance, people growth, and a healthy engineering culture.

Develop and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring consistent standards, modernization, and alignment with the overall platform and architecture vision.

Partner with the CTPO on engineering priorities, delivery frameworks, and scaling initiatives across brands and teams.

Build a strong cross-location culture centered on accountability, autonomy, and shared engineering excellence.

Oversee modernization of applications and harmonization of tools, practices, and delivery processes.

Collaborate closely with Product and Platform Engineering teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems.

Assist with M&A activities, including technical due diligence and onboarding of new engineering teams into the company's way of working.

Take part in meetings with some of the largest existing and potential clients to build technical trust.

Travel occasionally to meet teams in various locations in Europe to maintain collaboration and engagement.

What you'll bring

Experience as Head of Software Engineering or Director of Software Engineering, ideally in a complex, multi-location enterprise SaaS.

Proven track record leading distributed engineering teams and driving alignment across geographies.

Strong understanding of modern software development across various backend, frontend, and mobile technologies.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders, including enterprise clients.

Fluent English (C1+ level), spoken and written.

Experience with M&A integration, including technical due diligence and integration of acquired teams, is a plus.

A strong leadership mindset focused on empowerment, clarity, and consistent, high-quality delivery in a growing organization.
