Grid Connection Manager

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Grid Connection Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end grid connection process for our photovoltaic projects in Poland, from technical design and coordination with DSOs through testing, energization and final grid connection.
Key responsibilities
- End-to-end management of the grid connection process for utility-scale PV projects, from the design stage through successful connection and readiness for electricity export.
- Managing technical coordination and communication with Distribution System Operators (DSOs) throughout the connection process.
- Technical supervision of grid connection solutions, including protection, automation and control systems (EAZ), primary and secondary circuits, and verification of compliance with applicable DSO requirements.
- Coordinating and reviewing technical documentation required for grid connection, testing, commissioning and final acceptance.
- Managing the preparation, coordination and approval of Grid Operation Cooperation Instructions (IWR) and other formal and technical documentation required by DSOs.
- Coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning and investor teams to ensure the timely achievement of key grid connection milestones.
- Supervising the preparation of transformer substations, MV switchgear and other electrical infrastructure for post-installation testing, energization and technical acceptance.
- Managing the process of obtaining all required technical approvals, acceptances and decisions necessary to commission and energize the installation.
- Representing the project during technical inspections, acceptance committee meetings and meetings with DSO representatives.
- Managing grid connection schedules and monitoring the progress of works performed by contractors and subcontractors.
- Identifying and mitigating technical, formal and schedule-related risks that may affect the timely connection of projects.
- Providing technical expertise throughout the design, construction and commissioning phases and supporting key project and investment decisions.
- Taking ownership of the successful completion of the grid connection process and handover of renewable energy generation assets for operation.
What we are looking for
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering or another relevant technical field.
- Professional experience in grid connection, power engineering or electrical infrastructure, ideally within utility-scale PV or other renewable energy projects.
- Practical knowledge of the grid connection process for generation assets in Poland.
- Experience in working directly with Polish Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and navigating their technical requirements and procedures.
- Strong technical knowledge of MV/HV infrastructure, transformer substations, switchgear, protection and control systems, and primary and secondary circuits.
- Experience in reviewing and coordinating electrical design and grid connection documentation.
- Good understanding of testing, commissioning, energization and technical acceptance processes.
- Ability to independently lead technical discussions and coordinate multiple stakeholders, including DSOs, designers, contractors and investors.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities and deadlines.
- Very good command of Polish and English.
- Category B driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
