Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a German-speaking Civil Site Manager to lead international energy infrastructure projects in Poland and beyond. You will manage on-site construction activities, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and budget compliance across domestic and international job sites.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree with EPC experience, strong HSE knowledge, and fluency in German and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Several years of turnkey/EPC experience in large-scale plant construction (e.g., HVDC, power plants).
• Knowledge of HSE management and/or safety coordination, with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Intercultural competence and experience in international project environments; willingness to travel worldwide.
• Business-level proficiency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize, manage, and supervise all construction activities on site and ensure subcontractors perform per contract.
• Ensure compliance with HSE/EHS requirements, regulations, and safety standards on site.
• Coordinate technical specifications and management of the site team; ensure alignment with project stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, schedules, budgets, and initiate corrective actions for deviations.
• Support CIP processes and as-built documentation; contribute to risk management.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Civil Site Manager (m/f/d) in energy plant construction, you will be responsible for the successful execution of construction projects at domestic and international job sites in the field of energy infrastructure (HVDC, FACTS). You will lead the on-site construction team and ensure that construction work is carried out on schedule, to the required quality standards, and within budget.

In this role, you will coordinate internal and external project stakeholders, work closely with related disciplines, and ensure consistent compliance with occupational safety, quality, and contractual requirements. With your leadership and organizational skills, you will make a decisive contribution to the success of complex energy projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Overall responsibility for organizing, managing, and supervising all construction activities, as well as ensuring that subcontractors perform their services in accordance with the contract within the assigned area of responsibility
• Ensuring compliance with all HSE/EHS requirements, local regulations, and safety standards on the construction site in close collaboration with HSE management
• Responsibility for implementing technical and contractual specifications, as well as for the technical coordination and management of the construction site team
• Monitoring construction progress, managing schedules, and initiating corrective actions in the event of deviations or impending delays
• Continuously monitoring project budget costs, identifying opportunities and risks, and actively supporting claims and risk management
• Responsibility for as-built documentation, regular construction site reporting, and active participation in continuous improvement and optimization (CIP) processes

What You Bring

• A successfully completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering
• Several years of experience in the turnkey/EPC business, ideally in large-scale plant construction (e.g., HVDC systems, power plants, or comparable infrastructure projects)
• Knowledge of—and ideally practical experience in—HSE management and/or as a safety and health coordinator, as well as a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to get things done
• Intercultural competence and experience in international project environments; willingness to travel worldwide and undertake long-term assignments at construction sites both domestically and abroad
• Enthusiasm for digital technologies, modern work methods, and actively shaping digitalization initiatives
• Business-level proficiency in German and English; knowledge of additional foreign languages is a plus
