Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned License Management leader to define and drive the global strategy, governance, and controls for software licensing. You will manage the end-to-end licence lifecycle, optimise usage, and lead renewals and negotiations with major publishers.

The role focuses on ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and leveraging ServiceNow SAM Pro to automate processes and improve governance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/IS or related field.
• 7+ years in SAM/ITAM/licensing with global/multinational experience.
• Hands-on with ServiceNow SAM Pro or equivalent; knowledge of licensing models.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive global License Management strategy and governance.
• Lead end-to-end software licence lifecycle including renewals and optimisation.
• Own licence compliance, reconciliations, risk identification and remediation.
• Manage licensing relationships with key software vendors and support renewals.
• Oversee License Management tools data quality, reporting and automation.
• Collaborate with IS, Sourcing, Legal, Finance to embed licensing practices across the org.
• Monitor licensing and regulatory developments and drive continuous improvement.

Job description

Define and drive the global License Management strategy, governance framework, policies, controls and processes
Lead the end-to-end software licence lifecycle and optimisation, including entitlements, usage, demand, renewals and optimisation opportunities
Own licence compliance and audit readiness, including reconciliations, licence positions, risk identification and remediation
Manage licensing relationships with key software vendors and support renewals, commercial discussions and interpretation of licensing terms in collaboration with Sourcing, Legal and Vendor Management
Own the quality and effective use of License Management tools and data, including ServiceNow SAM Pro or equivalent, reporting and process automation
Partner with IS, Sourcing, Legal, Finance and business stakeholders to embed effective license management practices across the organization
Develop licensing strategies aligned with business goals, support software licence compliance reporting, and monitor relevant licensing and regulatory developments
Drive continuous improvement, provide licensing expertise and guidance to the team, and manage escalations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing, or IT/IS Vendor Management with a strong focus on software licensing in a global or multinational environment
• Strong knowledge of software licensing models, licence optimisation, compliance and vendor audits
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro or a comparable SAM platform
• Experience working with major software publishers and complex enterprise licensing models
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
