Job summary

Sii Poland in Katowice is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on BigQuery data modeling and performance optimization.

Responsibilities include building data integrations, orchestrating workflows with Airflow/Cloud Composer, and implementing CI/CD for data solutions using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build. Collaboration with analytics teams and IaC with Terraform is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role working with data in production
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery data modeling and query optimization
• Ability to design, build and maintain data pipelines (batch and/or streaming)
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data processing and orchestration
• Experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow / Cloud Composer)
• Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD for data solutions (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Cloud Build)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Experience with large data volumes focusing on performance and reliability
• Fluent English communication
• Polish language proficiency in Poland

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform
• Work with BigQuery as the main data warehouse including data modeling and performance optimization
• Integrate data from various sources and transform it
• Orchestrate data workflows using Airflow/Cloud Composer
• Create and maintain CI/CD solutions for data pipelines and infrastructure
• Manage cloud infrastructure following IaC principles (Terraform)
• Ensure data quality, monitoring, and rapid incident response
• Collaborate with analytics, BI, and product teams to deliver well-documented data
• Contribute to data architecture development and promote best data engineering practices
