Seargin Ltd is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high‑performing engineering team. You will steer technical delivery, review designs, and mentor engineers to deliver reliable, compliant software.

The role emphasizes data integrity, regulatory awareness (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11), and ownership of high‑risk changes. You will collaborate on international projects, improve delivery processes, and ensure clear technical documentation and accountability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams with direct line management.
• Strong technical engineering background with ability to review PRs and reason about distributed systems.
• Experience delivering software in regulated, data-integrity focused environments.
• Ownership of significant technical changes including planning and rollback strategies.
• Proven track record of engineering process improvements.
• Excellent written communication for technical plans and status updates.
• Ability to adapt, acknowledge knowledge gaps, and solve problems systematically.

• Manage and develop a software engineering team, providing clear direction, supporting individual growth, and maintaining accountability for delivery.
• Oversee Technical Delivery
  • Stay closely involved in technical decisions by reviewing code, assessing designs, investigating defects, and guiding solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure Data Integrity and System Reliability
  • Maintain high engineering standards for systems where data must remain complete, attributable, accurate, and demonstrably unchanged.
• Manage High-Risk Technical Changes
  • Take ownership of significant and difficult-to-reverse changes, ensuring appropriate planning, verification, risk assessment, and rollback strategies.
• Identify and implement improvements to team workflows, engineering standards, delivery processes, and overall development effectiveness.
• Maintain Technical and Delivery Documentation
  • Ensure clear and reliable written communication through technical decisions, delivery plans, defect records, and status reporting that can withstand formal scrutiny.
• Guide Technical Problem-Solving
  • Help the team navigate ambiguity, investigate unknowns systematically, and make informed decisions based on available evidence.

Requirements

• Software Engineering Management Experience
  • Proven experience managing software engineering teams, including direct line management responsibility and supporting team development.
• Strong Technical Engineering Background
  • Professional software engineering background and current technical credibility, with the ability to review pull requests, understand infrastructure code, and reason about distributed systems.
• Experience in Quality-Critical Environments
  • Experience delivering software where correctness, auditability, and data integrity take priority over delivery speed, such as regulated, financial, or safety-critical environments.
• Demonstrated ownership of significant technical changes that are difficult to reverse, including planning verification activities and rollback procedures.
• Engineering Process Improvement
  • Evidence of improving team practices, engineering standards, and ways of working beyond the delivery of individual software features.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical plans, decisions, defect records, and status updates that withstand scrutiny.
• Adaptability and Structured Problem-Solving
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, acknowledging knowledge gaps, and defining structured approaches to investigate issues and reach informed decisions.
