You carry out drone inspections of wind turbine blades and continuity measurements of the lightning protection system (LPS). A team is two people: a pilot and a technician. The technician stops and secures the turbine; you plan and fly the mission and look after data quality and equipment. One turbine means about 30 minutes of downtime. On a good day a team covers a dozen turbines or more.
We fly enterprise drones (DJI Matrice with a Zenmuse P1 camera) under the company’s operating procedures, in the specific category (STS scenarios, BVLOS authorisations). The images go to our platform, where AI analyses them and experienced blade technicians verify every finding. That is why every frame counts.
Working on the road: read this before you apply
This is the most important part of the offer. We work where the turbines are, not where we live.
- 10 European countries where we work
- 2–3 wks a typical trip, then you go home
- Mar–Nov the main field season
- 100% of travel costs covered: lodging, car, per diems
- During the season you spend most of your time away from home. Trips usually last from a few days to 2–3 weeks, followed by time off at home.
- We work in Poland and abroad, including Germany, Czechia, France, Scandinavia and the Baltic states.
- The weather sets the schedule. When there is a weather window we start early and work longer; when the wind is too strong we pause. Weekend work happens.
- You stay in hotels or guesthouses and drive a company car with the equipment, so a category B driving licence is a must.
- Abroad you speak English with the wind farm staff and the client.
- If you are looking for a 9-to-5 job close to home, this offer is not for you. If you like the road, variety and independence, let’s talk.
- Planning and flying inspection missions at wind turbines: blades, tower, nacelle.
- LPS continuity measurements using specialised drone platforms.
- Assessing conditions (wind, weather, airspace) and making the go / no-go call according to procedures.
- Checking image quality on site and handing over complete data the same day.
- Looking after drones, batteries and sensors: pre-flight checks, minor servicing, reporting faults.
- Working with the technician and wind farm staff, following safety rules and client procedures.
- Flight records and a short report for every working day.
What we expect
- A1/A3 and A2 qualifications: the minimum to start.
- An STS-01 certificate, or willingness to obtain it with us before the season.
- A category B driving licence and experience driving long distances.
- Full readiness for long trips in Poland and abroad.
- Conversational English (min. B1).
- Comfort with field work: wind, cold, early hours.
- Independence, accuracy and responsibility for equipment and data.
Required qualifications
In the form you tick what you already have and since when. If you have the basics and want to learn, missing some of them does not rule you out.
- A1/A3: open category (online training and test) Required
- A2 CofC: remote pilot certificate of competency Required
- STS-01: certificate of competency (VLOS, specific category) Required for the season. If you don’t have it, we prepare you before the start. We help you get it
- STS-02: certificate of competency (BVLOS) Preferred
- Category B driving licence Required
- GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) If a wind farm requires it, we provide the training. We help you get it
