Job summary

Power Technology is seeking a field technician to join a two-person drone inspection team for wind turbine blades and LPS checks. You and a pilot will travel across Europe, planning missions, collecting high-quality data, and ensuring safety and compliance with STS/BVLOS procedures. Trips last 2–3 weeks with lodging and transport provided.

Training and certificates are paid by the company. The role requires independence, endurance, and practical fieldwork in changing weather, with daily data

Qualifications

• A1/A3: open category (online training and test) Required
• A2 CofC: remote pilot certificate of competency Required
• STS-01: certificate of competency (VLOS, specific category) Required for the season
• STS-02: certificate of competency (BVLOS) Preferred
• Category B driving licence Required
• GWO BST: Training provided if required by wind farm

Responsibilities

• Plan and fly inspection missions at wind turbines (blades, tower, nacelle).
• Perform LPS continuity measurements with specialised drones.
• Assess conditions (wind/weather/airspace) and make go/no-go calls per procedures.
• Check image quality on site and deliver complete data the same day.
• Maintain drones, batteries, and sensors; conduct pre-flight checks and minor servicing.
• Work with technician and wind farm staff following safety rules and client procedures.
• Keep flight records and a short daily report.
