As a Senior Technician you will be part of a permanently employed dedicated service team. You will be able to lead a team and carry out all of the duties associated with the service, maintenance and repair of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) wind turbine generators. The role will provide you with a challenging and varied role, learning opportunities and a good team culture. Your key role will be to deliver excellent service and MTBV (Meantime between visits) while ensuring compliance with SGRE internal processes and procedures, relevant legislation, EHS and quality.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Active safety leadership when in the turbine and in the wind farm – ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with SGRE standards and relevant legislation in relation to EHS, quality and service delivery.
- Responsible for technical and safety documentation production and management. Drive and develop risk assessments and method statements for work packages/tasks, and deliver technical and safety toolbox talks.
- Technical lead for the management and delivery of technical queries with Service Technology and field staff, responsible for the remote diagnosis of turbine faults and direct technical supervision of critical tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with customer and contractual obligations while executing work packages/tasks, and with site rules and regulations. Mentor both customer and SGRE technicians.
- Maintain efficient timescales for delivery of service activities; assist in the creation of daily and weekly plans for site teams in conjunction with Service Planner / Service Coordinator.
What You Bring
- Experience working as a technician, ideally within the wind industry.
- Experience working with a large range of contractors and customers, with demonstrable management experience.
- Practical experience with MS Office applications and preferably SAP, MORS and remote diagnostic tools.
- Competent ability to work under pressure and lead a team of service technicians.
- Ability to work shifts at the project location (exact shift patterns to be confirmed). Knowledge of health and safety legislations is required.
- A comprehensive understanding of and a consistent ability to demonstrate competencies across Technician, Competent Technician, Maintenance Technician and Troubleshoot Technician levels.
- Valid driving licence, as the role requires travel by CTV (Crew Transfer Vessel) or SOV (Service Operations Vessel).
- Shift working will be required as per business needs; details will be finalised closer to when the site becomes operational.
The Baltyk II & III and Baltica 2 projects are located in the Baltic Sea, with base facilities in the ports of Leba and Ustka. Candidates based within daily commuting distance to Leba CTV port are encouraged to apply, however we also welcome applications from candidates from other cities in Poland.
