Job summary

ALTEN Polska, part of the ALTEN Group, is looking for a Data Modeller to design and maintain data models for an analytics platform. You will collaborate with data modelers, architects, analysts and the delivery team to define data products and ensure data quality.

Key responsibilities include building conceptual, logical and physical models, gathering requirements, and ensuring alignment with data design standards.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of data modelling for operational and analytical systems.
• Experience with data modelling approaches: Data Vault 2.0, Star Schema, 3NF.
• Experience in data profiling and analyzing relational data and hierarchical files (JSON, XML).
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and obtain sign-offs.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and data quality standards.

As a Data Modeller, you will be responsible for designing, and maintaining data models that will support one of organization’s analytical data platform. You will collaborate with other data modelers, data architects, data and business analysts and the delivery team to the design for data products.

The design work should contain data model definitions, source to target mappings, mapping to the abstract reference data models, data integrity checks and data quality rules design.

• Design and develop conceptual, logical and physical data models to support business requirements, operational and analytical needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into data modelling solutions that meet business needs.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and source system experts to gather all necessary information about data to be modelled.
• Work closely with data architects, data engineers to ensure that designed structure and underlying data transformation mappings allows development team to deliver data product of desired value and quality, ready for handful and performant consumption.
• Participate in design and architecture discussions to ensure alignment with data design standards and principles.
• Stay up to date with emerging data technologies, trends, and industry developments.
• Help to improve existing processes leading to better quality and higher automation.
• Data Modelling Expertise: You have a deep understanding of data modelling (for both operational and analytical systems), data analysis, metadata. You can elicit, document and verify requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data models.
• Data Modelling Techniques: Experience in the implementation of Data Modelling approaches: Data Vault 2.0, Star Schema (multidimensional modelling), 3NF.
• Data Manipulation Skills: You have experience in performing data profiling and directed data analysis on top of relational data and hierarchical files (JSON, XML). You are capable of guiding data analyst to do the same.
• Communication with Impact: Your communication skills are strong, allowing you to effectively convey complex data modelling concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You can influence and align stakeholders in getting the required signoffs.
• Data Governance: You have a strong understanding of data governance principles and can establish and enforce data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and data protection measures.

Good to have:

• Experience in cloud data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Python hands-on
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Knowledge of banking industry topics and banking models (BIAN, FSDM, FIBO, SWIFT, BDW etc.) or experience in designing enterprise data models
