Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking a Customs Agency Team Leader to manage the customs operation, coordinate the team, ensure accurate and timely declarations, and maintain compliance with regulations. The role also involves developing team members and driving continuous process improvements within an international context.

You will collaborate with transportation, warehouse, and accounting teams to deliver high-quality service and build strong relationships with customers and authorities in Warsaw.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Customs Agency Team Leader who will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Customs Agency and the coordination of the team’s work. In this role, you will ensure the accurate and timely execution of customs processes, compliance with applicable regulations, and the delivery of high-quality customer service. You will also support the development of team members and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating the work of the team, setting priorities, and supporting employees in the execution of day-to-day tasks.
• Supervising the accurate and timely processing of customs declarations and other customs-related activities.
• Ensuring high quality, timeliness, and efficiency of processes carried out by the Customs Agency.
• Ensuring compliance of all customs processes with applicable customs regulations, internal procedures, and security standards.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying customer needs, and providing professional customs support, including active participation in the identification and implementation of special customs procedures.
• Maintaining ongoing cooperation with Customs and Tax Authorities and other governmental administrative bodies.
• Collaborating closely with transportation, warehouse, accounting, and other teams involved in customs operations.
• Monitoring and controlling customs guarantees and securities.
• Preparing applications, appeals, and explanations within the scope of granted authorizations.
• Overseeing the proper circulation, registration, and archiving of customs documentation.
• Monitoring changes in customs regulations and ensuring their effective implementation in the daily operations of the Customs Agency.
• Participating in process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Minimum 3 years of experience in customs operations, preferably within a customs agency or logistics company.
• Very good knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, with practical experience in customs declaration processing.
• Experience in coordinating a team or managing employees.
• Ability to build strong customer relationships and cooperate effectively with external authorities and institutions.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• High level of commitment, with a focus on service quality and continuous process improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
• Knowledge of the Huzar customs system.
• Registered Customs Agent status would be an advantage.
