Job summary

Hitachi Energy Services SP. Z O.O. in Krakow seeks an AI Research Engineer to translate cutting-edge AI research into practical validation experiments. You will design prototypes, benchmarks and comparisons across LLMs, RAG and agentic AI, contributing to the DAAI program.

You will collaborate with AI Experimentation Engineers and leads, reading research critically and communicating limitations. Requires 3+ years in applied AI with strong Python and cloud platform experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in applied AI research, AI engineering or ML research.
• Strong programming skills (Python preferred) with hands-on AI experimentation, benchmarks and evaluation.
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, fine-tuning, RAG, agentic AI and responsible-AI evaluation.
• Experience reading research and translating claims into practical experiments.
• Fluent English and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and operationalize AI research into practical validation experiments.
• Design prototypes, benchmarks and comparisons across LLMs, RAG, agentic AI and evaluation.
• Collaborate with AI Experimentation Engineer and AI Opportunity Lead.
• Communicate results clearly, including limitations and next steps.
• Preserve reusable methods, benchmarks and test assets.
