Job summary

Royal Canin seeks an AI & Automation Lead to drive hands-on engineering for automation initiatives and AI-enabled efficiencies across internal processes and future customer-facing use cases.

The role focuses on turning ideas into measurable improvements, delivering reliable automation at scale, and collaborating with PMO, product owners and business stakeholders to institutionalize automation practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in test automation, process/RPA automation or a related quality/engineering role, ideally within a Salesforce or broader SaaS delivery environment.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tooling, plus basic scripting skills (e.g. Python, JavaScript) for custom automations and integrations.
• Working knowledge of generative AI and agentic tools (e.g. Copilot-type assistants, Claude, Agentforce, OpenAI-style APIs) and a genuine interest in applying them to everyday productivity problems
• Familiarity with low-code automation/RPA platforms is a plus.
• A process-mapping mindset: able to break down a manual task, spot the automatable steps, and judge the effort/value trade-off without over-engineering the solution.
• Comfortable working in an Agile delivery environment, with the discipline to document, test and hand over automations so they remain maintainable by others.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical automations simply, build trust with non-technical stakeholders, and turn quick wins into visible team-wide adoption.
• A pragmatic, curious, improvement-driven mindset — energized by experimenting, measuring impact and scaling what works.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of business cases that enhance the customer experience and ensure value tracking.
• Opportunity identification: scan team workflows to identify automation and AI opportunities and build business cases for the most promising ones.
• Test automation: Design, build and maintain automated test suites to increase regression coverage and reduce manual effort ahead of each Run and major release.
• Process automation: Automate repetitive internal processes through scripting, low-code platforms, freeing the team for higher-value work.
• AI-enabled efficiencies: Pilot and operationalize generative AI tools to accelerate internal tasks within guardrails.
• Reusable assets: Package automations and prompts as reusable components in the asset library.
• Value tracking: Define and track success metrics for every automation and report progress.
• Community & enablement: Share learnings and quick wins through trainings, newsletters and demos.
