Job summary

Prime System Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll for US and Canadian entities, ensuring accurate withholding, deductions, and record-keeping. The role partners with HR to stay compliant with federal/state laws and respond to employee inquiries about pay, taxes, and benefits.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of payroll experience, familiarity with HRIS and Paylocity, and a proactive approach to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years of progressive payroll experience.
• Experience with Paylocity preferred.
• Experience with multi-site/dispersed employee base.
• Experience using HRIS and benefits administration systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and commission payrolls and off-cycle payments.
• Ensure payroll compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Oversee time & attendance, timesheet administration, and data integrity in payroll system.
• Collaborate with HR on special compensation payments, benefit administration, and policy changes.
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and support month/quarter/year-end close activities.
