The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in OT/Surgical Technology with at least two years of post-qualification OT experience and a commitment to high quality patient care.

The Operation Theatre Technician is a critical clinical support role responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of the operating room. The primary duties involve preparing all equipment and supplies for surgical procedures, providing direct technical support to the surgical and anesthesia teams, and maintaining a sterile and safe environment for patients. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Care & Safety: Adhering to international patient safety goals, ensuring patient dignity and rights, providing pre-operative supportive care, and safely transporting patients. Surgical Preparation & Support: Securing all supplies, checking equipment functionality, and ensuring all required items are available before surgery. Assisting the surgeon and team during the procedure and handling specimens. Sterility & Infection Control: Maintaining a sterile field, performing instrument counts, ensuring proper cleaning and hygienic maintenance of the OT, and following infection control, radiation safety, and biomedical waste disposal protocols. Instrument & Equipment Management: Checking instruments before and after use, documenting and reporting any damage or equipment issues, and ensuring all instruments are handed over to the CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department) for reprocessing. Documentation & Compliance: Completing all necessary pre- and post-operative documentation, maintaining equipment inventories, and complying with all hospital and departmental policies. Teamwork & Communication: Building good relationships with team members, assisting in emergencies, and reporting critical incidents or leave requests to the Manager OT. Quality & Performance: Managing work to meet requirements and assure OT quality, adhering to KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) which are reviewed quarterly, and participating in 360-degree feedback performance assessments.
Qualification: Diploma in OT/Surgical Technology or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in an OT from a reputable hospital.
