Job Description

The Medical Imaging Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining diagnostic imaging equipment to perform procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy, while ensuring accurate, high-quality images in accordance with established technical and safety standards. The role includes preparing and positioning patients, providing clear instructions, ensuring patient comfort and safety, following infection control protocols, reviewing images for quality and diagnostic suitability, identifying and reporting equipment issues, maintaining accurate patient and imaging records, documenting relevant medical history, allergies, and contraindications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and confidentiality requirements. The technician collaborates closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support timely image interpretation, effective patient care, and smooth departmental workflow.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) or Radiologic Imaging Technology (RIT) or a related field. Master’s degree will be preferred.

Additional Information

Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant practical experience in a tertiary care hospital.
