Job summary

Liaquat National Hospital is seeking an experienced OT supervisor to oversee theatre allocation, equipment readiness and staffing for operation theatres. The role involves coordinating OT Technicians and CSSD staff with surgical teams to ensure smooth, safe patient care.

The successful candidate will have clinical qualifications, strong English/Urdu communication and a proven track record in leadership, problem solving and team management within high-demand hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Preferably MBBS / BDS / BS or MS in Allied Health Sciences / BSN or MSN with 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, including 2 to 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the allocation of the Operation Theatres (OT) in accordance with the approved theatre allocation schedule.
• Monitor, supervise, and train OT Technicians and CSSD Technicians in coordination with surgical specialties.
• Ensure that all equipment is functional and ready before allocating the OT to end-users.
• Plan and maintain adequate staffing in the OT to meet patient care needs.
• Maintain records of procedures performed, theatre time utilization, and end-user feedback after each list.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation requirements related to OT services.
• Ensure readiness of the OTs for emergency procedures and manage critical situations effectively.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and proper disposal of biomedical waste and sharps in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
