Job summary

Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance and expansion of all telecommunication systems across the hospital.

The role requires 8–10 years in telecom with at least 5 years in a managerial position, and hands-on expertise with PABX, IP telephony, fiber networks, and related ICT technologies. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/BE in Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering from a reputable institution; master’s degree adds advantage.
• 8–10 years in telecommunications with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise telecom systems, PABX, IP telephony, and fiber networks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and management skills; proficiency in Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation, maintenance and availability of all telecom systems, hardware, software and network connectivity across the hospital.
• Plan, implement and monitor telecom infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.
• Manage, administer and troubleshoot telecom systems including PABX, IP telephony and related ICT solutions.
• Lead and develop the telecommunications technical team and oversee day-to-day operator room operations.
• Maintain documentation of telecom systems, configurations, maintenance schedules and service records.

Job description

• Ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and availability of all telecommunication systems, hardware, software, and network connectivity across the hospital.
• Plan, implement, and monitor telecommunication infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.
• Manage, administer, and troubleshoot telecommunication systems including
• Siemens HiPath 4000, Siemens OpenScape, Nurse Call System, Queue Management System, Public Address System, Branded SMS Platform
• QueueMatic System, PTCL Messaging Services, Main Distribution Frame Optical Fiber Network, TV and LED Display Systems, Panasonic PABX
• Lead, supervise, and develop the telecommunications technical team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the operator room.
• Ensure maximum system uptime through preventive maintenance, timely troubleshooting, and coordination with vendors and service providers.
• Maintain documentation of telecommunication systems, configurations, maintenance schedules, and service records.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BS/BE in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering from a reputable institution. Master’s degree in Telecommunication, Networks, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in telecommunications, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise telecommunication systems, PABX, IP telephony, fiber optic networks, conferencing solutions, and related ICT technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
