Job summary

Prime System Solutions seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll functions for Canadian and US entities, including pay calculations, tax withholdings, and deductions. The role collaborates with Human Resources to ensure accurate data and compliance with federal, state/provincial laws, wage and hour regulations, and employee benefits.

The position requires 2–3 years of payroll experience, familiarity with Paylocity, and HRIS/benefits systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of progressive payroll experience.
• Experience with Paylocity preferred.
• Experience in multi-site/dispersed employee base.
• Experience using HRIS and benefits administration systems.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and commission payrolls and off-cycle payments.
• Ensure payroll compliance with state laws and regulations.
• Manage time and attendance and timesheet administration.
• Collaborate with HR on compensation, benefits, and policy changes.
• Develop and maintain payroll calendar, procedures, and processes.
• Maintain payroll data integrity and process journal entries for payroll.
• Assist in month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities.
