Job summary

PTCL Group in Pakistan seeks a telecom engineer to implement GPON FTTH plans, oversee field access network activities, and ensure QA across Copper and Fiber projects. The role emphasizes safety, budget adherence, and timely execution.

Required BS Engineering and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of IP networks and drawings. Hybrid work model offered to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering degree in telecommunication, electrical, electronics, computer science or software engineering.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in telecom networking.
• Knowledge of reading engineering drawings and FDH concepts.
• Experience with optical fiber testing and access/IP networks.

Responsibilities

• Implement GPON FTTH plans considering financial and human resources constraints.
• Inspect ongoing access network (Copper and Fiber) works and survey cabinets/DPs.
• Prepare checklists and support QA audits; report weekly/monthly activities across zones.
• Ensure compliance with Administrative, Financial and HR policies and budgets.
• Train new entrants at supervisor level and ensure testing of new/updated network elements.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Implement the plan of GPON FTTH keeping in view the financial resources, human resources competition and searching the opportunities for customers to get the objective of doing business in profitable way.

HOW CAN YOU EXPRESS YOUR TALENT:

• Conducting Technical evaluation of OSP (Access Network Copper and Fiber) including Electrical testing of U/G cables, Physical survey of OSP (MDF, Manholes, U/G cables, Cabinets, DPs, Loops, FDH, NAP, FAT, OLTs).
• Inspection of ongoing development work in the field of Access Network (Copper and Fiber) to ensure its implementation. Joint Survey of Cabinets renovation program carried out by Development wing.
• Preparation of checklists and its continuous improvement for use in technical audit. Report preparation of Weekly/ Monthly activities carried out by all zones of QA throughout PTCL. Report generation and follow up for improvement of QOS of OSP.
• Ensuring compliance of Administrative, Financial and HR matters related to the Staff of the particular region. Ensuring compliance with budgets, targets, and deadlines through the implementation of cost-efficient controls. Ensuring compliance with legal, EHS and ethical standards.
• To train the new entrant at supervisor level and Executive 10 100% complete.
• Ensuring every addition in each existing network element or entirely new system such as OLT FDH, Feeder route, switch, DWDM etc are tested in accordance with the approved PAT documents and prescribed procedure.
• Carrying out analysis and suggestions to the concerned team especially related to customer complaints for improvements in the Fault Rectification-Time and to avoid the reoccurrence of fault in order to reduce Churn

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Qualification:

Education:

• BS Engineering (Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering etc)

Experience:

• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Technical Competency:

• Knowledge of reading of Drawing
• Testing of optical fiber cable
• Understanding of Pin to Port Plan of FDH
• Knowledge of Access network
• Knowledge of IP network
