Job summary

Zong 5G in Islamabad, Pakistan seeks a telecom network engineer to manage long haul network configuration including FTTH.

You will configure PTN, OTN, DWDM, provide advanced support for Core Transmission, coordinate deployments, optimize networks based on KPIs, and perform health checks.

The role requires a bachelor’s in telecom/electrical field and 2–4 years experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication, Electronics or Electrical or related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant telecom networks experience.
• Strong communication, leadership and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Configure PTN, OTN and DWDM devices.
• Provide advanced support for Core Transmission.
• Coordinate and implement new Core Transmission entities after checks.
• Analyze KPIs to optimize the network.
• Perform health checks and preventive maintenance routines.
• Coordinate with vendors/regions during emergencies.
• Identify outages quickly and provide real-time extended technical support.
• Deliver premium support for corporate teams in customer experience.
• Escalate with vendors and internal teams; share ETTR with customers.

Job description

Job Purpose:

• To manage Long Haul network configuration including FTTH network.

Job Responsibilities:

• Configurations on PTN, OTN and DWMD devices
• Provisioning of advanced level support to team for Core Transmission
• Coordinating and implement new Core Transmission network entity provided that all relevant checks are performed.
• Network Optimization based on analysis of key performance parameters
• Performing health checks and ensure that routines for corrective and preventive maintenance are timely and precisely done
• Coordinating with vendor & regions for emergency situation handling and to ensure that emergency plan is referred before engaging the vendor
• Ensure Quick identification of outages and issues faced by customers and provisioning of real time extended technical support to resolve the issues at first escalation
• Manage & ensure premium support to corporate business team in customer complaint and experience management
• Ensure strong follow up on vendor escalation matrix and internal second line teams through higher management to get the issue resolved and Share ETTR and keep the customer updated on problem resolution before completion of ETTR

Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills):

Education:

• In principle to have a minimum bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electronics or Electrical or other relevant degree.

Work Experience:

• Should have preferably 2-4 years of relevant experience.
