Job summary

Kashmir Wala Group in Karachi seeks a skilled Cargo Officer to manage import/export cargo operations, coordinating with freight forwarders, warehouses, customs, and ground handling agents. You will ensure compliance with airline SOPs, IATA/ICAO regs, and airport procedures while maintaining accurate records and timely cargo movement.

Minimum 3 years in airline cargo or logistics, with a relevant degree; willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, is expected.

  • Diploma/bachelor's degree in aviation, logistics, supply chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant airline cargo or logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of AWB, cargo documentation, and flight cut-off procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily air cargo operations including acceptance, booking, handling, storage, build-up, breakdown, loading and delivery.
  • Verify AWBs, manifests, weights, dimensions, labels and documentation.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, GHA/ground handling, warehouse, customs and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor readiness, schedules, cut-off times, acceptance, uplift and offload.
  • Ensure cargo is ready for timely departure and proper handling of special cargo.

About the Role

Kashmirwala Group is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Cargo Officer to join our airline cargo operations team in Karachi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating import and export cargo operations, ensuring smooth, safe, accurate, and timely cargo handling in accordance with airline procedures, airport requirements, and applicable aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate daily air cargo operations, including cargo acceptance, booking, handling, storage, build-up, breakdown, loading, and delivery.
  • Verify AWBs, manifests, cargo weight, pieces, dimensions, labels, and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, GHA/ground handling agents, warehouse, customs, security, ramp, and other operational stakeholders.
  • Monitor cargo readiness, flight schedules, cut-off times, cargo acceptance, uplift, and offload situations.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure cargo is ready for timely departure.
  • Monitor and follow up on import cargo, including receipt, documentation, discrepancies, and delivery/release coordination.
  • Ensure proper handling of special cargo, including Dangerous Goods (DGR), perishables, valuable cargo, and temperature-sensitive shipments, where applicable.
  • Identify and report short, over, damaged, missing, or incorrectly documented cargo.
  • Coordinate the resolution of operational issues and customer/agent queries.
  • Maintain accurate cargo records, operational reports, shipment status, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with airline SOPs, airport security procedures, customs requirements, and applicable IATA/ICAO regulations.
  • Support the Cargo Sales and Operations teams in achieving smooth and efficient cargo movement.
Requirements
  • Diploma/bachelor's degree in aviation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in airline cargo, airport operations, ground handling, freight forwarding, or logistics.
  • Good knowledge of Air Waybill (AWB), cargo documentation, cargo handling, flight cut-off procedures, and ULD operations.
  • Knowledge of airline cargo systems and operational procedures will be an advantage.
  • DGR certification/training will be considered an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
