Job Description
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites
- Assisting skilled workers (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders)
- Moving materials and equipment around the site
- Performing manual labor tasks (e.g., lifting, carrying)
- Maintaining an organized work environment/ 5S in the workplace
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
- Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary
- Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
- Load or unload construction materials
- Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding
- Remove, fill, or compact earth
- Follow instructions from supervisors
- Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
- Perform site clean-up
- Digging trenches, compacting earth, pouring and leveling concrete, and building temporary structures like scaffolding
- Reading basic plans and following instructions from supervisors and experienced construction workers
- Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites
- Set up and remove traffic control devices, cones, and signage to direct traffic safely around work areas
- Demolitions-specific or demolition-related duties where applicable
Qualifications
- At least a High School graduate (or equivalent)
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor
- 1-2 years of experience on construction sites preferred but training can be provided
- Willing to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team
- Safety awareness and ability to follow safety protocols
- Ability to work at various project sites and adapt to weather and site conditions
