Mandarin Oriental Makati seeks a Chef de Partie - Cake / Wedding Cake Artist to join the pastry kitchen during pre-opening. You will transform concepts into elegant wedding and celebration cakes, ensuring the highest quality and presentation.

You will collaborate with the Pastry and Events teams, mentoring junior staff and contributing to pre-opening readiness, inventory management, and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Wedding cake artist or pastry chef experience in luxury settings.
• Portfolio showing wedding and celebration cake designs.
• Expertise in fondant, piping, sugar flowers, modelling.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent collaboration with pastry, banquet, and events teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, assemble, and decorate bespoke wedding cakes and celebration cakes to high standards.
• Create elaborate cake decorations using fondant, piping, sugar flowers and modelling.
• Collaborate with Executive Pastry Chef to develop cake concepts for themes and events.
• Coordinate with Events and Banquet teams to meet timelines and special requests.
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, finishing and presentation with attention to detail.
• Oversee set-up and transport of wedding cakes and delicate pastries.
• Mentor junior pastry staff, maintaining craftsmanship standards.
