Job summary

TOA Global is seeking a US Accountant with strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on experience in construction or job costing. The role requires full-cycle bookkeeping experience, especially in construction accounting, and advanced QuickBooks Online skills.

Candidates should be proficient in accrual and cash-basis methods, understand WIP schedules, revenue recognition, retainage, and related analyses. English communication must be excellent for Slack and emails.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or Staff Accountant experience.
• At least 2 years in construction, contracting, or project-based accounting.
• Construction or Job Costing experience — REQUIRED.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) — able to set up a company file, structure a contractor-focused chart of accounts, record standard journal entries, and troubleshoot common QBO issues independently
• Strong understanding of accrual and cash‑basis accounting
• Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, retainage, and over/under-billing analysis
• Comfortable owning full-cycle bank and credit card reconciliations
• Ability to work independently within established processes and take ownership of month-end close
• Strong professional written English — all internal communication is conducted in English through Slack, email, and shared documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or Staff Accountant experience, with at least 2 years in construction, contracting, or project-based accounting
• Construction or Job Costing experience — REQUIRED
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) — able to set up a company file, structure a contractor-focused chart of accounts, record standard journal entries, and troubleshoot common QBO issues independently
• Strong understanding of both accrual and cash‑basis accounting, including the ability to convert between the two accurately
• Demonstrated experience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, retainage, and over/under-billing analysis
• Comfortable owning full-cycle bank and credit card reconciliations
