Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting in the Philippines is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our client's finance team in a fully remote setting. You will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and project accounting for a portfolio in the construction sector.

You will collaborate with the Controller, mentor Bookkeepers, and drive process improvements while ensuring accurate records using QuickBooks Online and other tools. Strong US GAAP knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum 3 years accounting experience.
• Experience with US GAAP preferred.
• Strong Excel/Sheets and financial statement prep.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level accounting support and partner with the Controller on accounting and financial reporting.
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring project costs, accruals, and client billings are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and review Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and project financial closeout activities.
• Review and approve the work of Bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet reviews, and financial audits.
• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist with client onboarding, accounting clean-up projects, and process improvements.
• Maintain financial records using QuickBooks Online (and QuickBooks Desktop when required).
• Lead and mentor a team of Bookkeepers while managing client deadlines and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

• Advanced knowledge of Balance Sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Strong experience in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace.
• Experience in job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition is highly preferred.
• Experience using ClickUp or similar project management tools is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Leadership experience reviewing or managing Bookkeepers is a plus.
