Job summary

Perla Compania de Seguros, Inc. in Cebu City is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to support the Underwriting Manager in policy issuance, KYCM compliance, and renewal monitoring.

You will prepare policies, endorsements, and related documents, identify insured risks, and apply approved rates. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/ College degree in Economics, Finance/ Accountancy/ Banking, Business Studies/ Administration/ Management, Commerce or equivalent.
• Can communicate well both oral and written
• Is keen to details
• Have good disposition and can work well under minimum supervision
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, esp in Excel spreadsheet
• Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks according to importance and urgency
• Experienced in the field of Insurance Services or equivalent is an advantage
• Fresh graduates/ Entry level is encourage to apply
• Applicant must be willing to work in CEBU CITY.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate preparation of policy, endorsements, cover notes and other related documents.
• Ability to identify, file and accept insurance risks
• Subject to the approval of the underwriting manager, the assistant must be able to implement applicable rates on the insurance risks being accepted
• Will perform administrative task in the issuance of policies
• Prepares letters and correspondence
