• Administer regular needs assessments to identify skill deficits.
• Orient new hires to roles and established norms.
• Address skill deficits through tailored in-house training.
• Coordinate external training sessions as needed.
• Monitor staff performance with line managers and department heads.
• Serve as a sounding board for employees’ development.

The Training Officer is responsible for fulfilling the educational requirements of new and existing staff. This includes administering needs assessments, identifying skill shortages, and addressing them through tailored training programs. The role also involves ensuring the effectiveness of instruction by monitoring post-training performance.

To succeed as a Training Officer, one must be non-judgmental and supportive of employees’ development, understanding that staff may be hesitant to disclose their challenges and navigating this with empathy and professionalism.

Training Officer Responsibilities:
