Job Summary
The Terminal Operations Staff is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the terminal by ensuring the efficient coordination of vessel activities, cargo handling, and delivery operations. The role involves monitoring terminal operations, preparing and processing operational documents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards to achieve timely and efficient cargo movement.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor vessel arrivals, departures, berthing, and cargo operations to ensure smooth terminal activities.
Coordinate with vessel crews, trucking providers, customers, and internal departments regarding cargo movements and delivery schedules.
Prepare, process, and maintain operational documents, cargo records, delivery reports, and other terminal-related documentation.
Monitor cargo loading, unloading, and yard activities to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of cargo by coordinating with logistics and transportation partners.
Update operational data and generate reports using company systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Address operational concerns and coordinate immediate solutions to minimize delays and disruptions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, terminal procedures, and government regulations.
Observe and enforce safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during field operations.
Participate in operational meetings, safety drills, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Terminal Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
College-level applicants or vocational graduates with relevant work experience may also be considered.
Experience
At least 1–2 years of experience in shipping, terminal operations, logistics, cargo handling, or land transportation.
Experience in vessel operations, delivery coordination, or cargo documentation is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of terminal, shipping, and logistics operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with cargo management systems such as GSONE, Geasy, or similar platforms is an advantage.
Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
