Top1Movers Worldwide Inc. is seeking a Port Representative to manage end-to-end cargo clearance at the port.
You will prepare and submit customs documents, coordinate with port authorities, monitor shipment status, handle inspections, and resolve issues to ensure timely client delivery. The role requires knowledge of port procedures, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a valid driver’s license.
The Port Representative is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of cargo clearance at the port. This includes preparing and submitting customs documentation, coordinating with port and customs authorities, monitoring shipment status, handling cargo inspections, and resolving issues such as damages or delays. The role also involves securing port access, scheduling deliveries, and providing regular updates to clients and internal teams, while continuously seeking ways to improve operational efficiency.
Monitor and update the status of shipments being discharged from vessels: report any irregularities or delays.
Prepare, secure, verify, and submit all necessary documents for customs processing and shipment release.
Efficient plan and process shipment clearance from arrival to client delivery, ensuring smooth operations.
Supervise or coordinate with authorities for the examination of shipments and conduct own inspection when necessary.
Inspect the units, document, photograph, and report any damages, missing packages, or incidents related to shipments.
Prepare documentation needed for insurance claims or customer service reports due to shipment issues.
Secure and process gate passes and other entry requirements for cargo movement within the port.
Monitor the return of empty flatracks and coordinate timely processing of related gate passes.
Schedule and plan deliveries, including assigning truck rotations to maximize efficiency.
Submit original invoices and official receipts to the Accounting Operations in a timely manner.
Provide regular and accurate shipment updates to clients or internal teams.
Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve overall performance.
Provide timely updates on the monitoring of released shipments.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor or management related to logistics and port operations.
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is a plus.
Prior knowledge in port operations, customs brokerage, logistics is preferred.
Knowledge of customs regulations and port procedures.
With motor vehicle and valid driver’s license.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, MS Excel).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding port environment.
