Staffstream is hiring a Medical Virtual Assistant for an Australian telehealth and healthcare services business. You’ll be the remote front desk, handling patient bookings, Medicare and private billing, and Halaxy administration to keep practitioner workflows smooth.

The role emphasizes privacy, accuracy, professional English communication, and independent, remote work from the Philippines as an independent contractor. Experience with Halaxy in a clinical setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Halaxy experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration setting.
• Practical Medicare billing experience across bulk, gap, and private billing.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Medicare billing rules, item numbers, and telehealth billing requirements.
• Attention to privacy and accuracy in patient records and billing data.
• Excellent written and spoken English for professional interactions with patients and practitioners.
• Ability to work remotely with disciplined time management and independence.

Responsabilités

• Handle medical reception and patient management via phone, email, and patient portal; manage bookings and reminders in Halaxy.
• Process Medicare and private billing, submit and track claims, and resolve rejected or unpaid claims.
• Configure and administer Halaxy settings, practitioner profiles, service items, and billing rules.
• Troubleshoot billing errors, booking issues, and platform configuration with escalation as needed.
• Maintain privacy-compliant patient records and clinical administration notes in Halaxy.
• Communicate scheduling updates, billing information, and referrals to patients and practitioners.
• Coordinate with practitioners and external providers to support the patient journey and reporting.
