Job summary

Trends Group, Inc. is seeking a TG-DCFI Presales Engineer in the Philippines to support data center facilities infrastructure opportunities. You will gather requirements, design solutions, and prepare proposals aligned with standards and business objectives.

You will coordinate with vendors and internal teams on power, cooling, fire suppression, cabling, and environmental systems, and prepare BOMs, diagrams, and turnover documentation for implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years in technical presales, data center facilities, MEP design support, or related roles.
• PRC license as Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics Engineer is mandatory.
• CDCP certification is an advantage.

Job description

I. PURPOSE

The TG-DCFI Presales Engineer supports technical presales activities for Data Center Facilities Infrastructure opportunities, including customer requirement assessment, solution development, partner coordination, and proposal preparation. The role covers electrical, mechanical, environmental, security, cabling, and related facility systems, while ensuring alignment with customer requirements, manufacturer specifications, applicable standards, and business objectives.

The role provides technical presales support from requirement gathering, site assessment, solution design coordination, and proposal submission through structured turnover to the implementation team.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Presales Support

• Assess customer requirements, conduct site and technical discovery activities, and develop suitable Data Center Facilities Infrastructure solutions covering power, cooling, fire suppression, structural provisions, cabling, environmental monitoring, and related facility systems.
• Prepare Bills of Materials, cost estimates, compliance matrices, technical proposal inputs, and supporting design assumptions in coordination with sales, vendors, and internal technical teams.
• Prepare or coordinate CAD-based site plans, data center layouts, electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment layouts, and mechanical diagrams required for proposals.
• Review proposed designs against applicable standards, manufacturer specifications, and relevant data center best practices.

Technical Documentation & Proposal Support

• Prepare presales deliverables such as presentations, technical writeups, bid responses,diagrams, brochures, and solution overview materials.
• Review bid documents and project specifications; assist in preparing responses to technicalclarifications, compliance statements, and value engineering options.
• Prepare and maintain presales documentation records, including approved BOMs, proposal assumptions, vendor quotations, compliance responses, drawings, cost references, and turnover notes required for auditability and implementation readiness.

Customer & Partner Engagement

• Support technology presentations, demo sessions, and technical walkthroughs for customers as required.
• Maintain professional and collaborative relationships with clients, system integrators, OEM partners, and internal stakeholders during the presales process.

Transition to Implementation

• Provide proposal background, design assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, and relevant technical information to the implementation team during handover.
• Provide clarification on proposed solutions during implementation handover when needed.
• Assist in coordinating design clarifications or proposal-related updates that may arise during project transition.

Internal Collaboration

• Work closely and cohesively with the sales resource team and the wider Data Center Facilities Infrastructure group.
• Support business development initiatives and participate in internal planning and technical strategy sessions.

Other Duties

• Participate in site surveys, bidding conferences, technical meetings, and industry events as required for presales activities.
• Perform other related tasks assigned by the management team in support of presales, technical documentation, customer requirements, and Data Center Facilities Infrastructure business objectives.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum Experience/Training

• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in technical presales, data center facilities, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) design support, electrical systems, estimation, or related engineering support roles.
• Experience in presales engineering, design estimation, quantity surveying, project coordination, or engineering documentation is preferred.
• Knowledge of data center facility systems, including UPS, power distribution, precision cooling, fire detection and suppression, structured cabling pathways, environmental monitoring, access control, and basic facility construction requirements, is an advantage.

Required Licensure

• A valid PRC license as an Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Electronics Engineer is mandatory.

Preferred Certifications & Skills

• CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) certification is an advantage but not required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic design or documentation tools is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of local and international standards such as PEC, TIA-942, NFPA, and ASHRAE is an advantage.
• Ability to present technical solutions clearly to customers, sales teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be willing to work in office, customer site, and project site environments as required by presales activities, customer engagements, and business needs.

Must observe the company’s regular working hours from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM and may be required to extend beyond regular working hours when business or project needs require.

Must be willing to travel to various parts of the Philippines depending on business and project requirements.
