This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field and at least 7 years of experience in Technical Services or R&D within the beauty industry. Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills are essential. You will oversee product quality, compliance, and innovation initiatives within the supply chain division.

Qualifications

About the job Technical Services Manager

AT A GLANCE

The Technical Services Manager will establish the overall technical services strategy, processes, and standards for Beauty and Eye Wear needed to deliver the right quality, cost-effective and compliant products for the on time new product launches and for its whole life cycle aligned with company core values and strategic direction of the Supply Chain division.

OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY

• Establish, continuously improve, and comply with technical processes, protocols, and standards
• Establish, continuously improve, and implement development qualification plans of components and finished goods
• Establish, continuously improve, and implement general specifications of components and finished goods
• Serve as the subject matter expert on all the technical aspects of the products in the existing and new product portfolio
• Be on top of industry standards such as but not limited to ISO, ASTM, ANSI, GB/T
• Provide technical solutions and guidance to the Strategic Sourcing and Design teams
• Ensure proper technical risk assessment is done on all new product development and existing product development
• Oversee production line trials for components and products, as needed
• Conceptualize and implement cost savings and cost avoidance under the technical services department
• Sign off on test protocols of components and finished goods during development and during production with the Quality Assurance department
• Sign off on incoming inspection protocols of components and finished goods with the Quality Control department
• Sign off on individual specifications of components and finished goods set by Technical Services associate and ensure proper sign off by suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Ensure product testing during development to confirm quality and conformance to specifications, standards, and range boards
• Sign off on final artworks, pre-production standards, production standards, and range boards
• Sign off on technical dossier and other technical documents of suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Ensure technical capabilities of suppliers during the supplier onboarding process
• Continuously look for innovation and trends regarding technical aspects of the products such as but not limited to materials, decoration, production processes, sustainability
• Participate on supplier audits for new and existing suppliers and spearhead its technical services section
• Provide training and support to technical services team including processes, protocols, and standards setting

YOUR TALENT

• Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or any related field
• PRC license holder
• Expert on material science, product development, formulation, production processes of the Beauty industry
• Working knowledge of statistical processes
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent external and internal stakeholder management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, problem solving and multitasking skills
• Knowledge of New Product Development process, desirable
