The Technical Officer is responsible for providing technical support and expertise for the company's Electric Vehicle (EV) business. This role supports service operations, vehicle diagnostics, technical troubleshooting, warranty concerns, and aftersales activities to ensure EV products are properly maintained and technical issues are resolved efficiently. The ideal candidate has a strong automotive technical background, knowledge of EV systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical concerns using appropriate tools and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for EV service operations, including vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving EV powertrain systems, high-voltage batteries, Battery Management Systems (BMS), charging systems, electric motors, controllers, and vehicle electronics.
- Assist service centers, technicians, and authorized service partners in resolving complex technical concerns.
- Conduct technical inspections and provide recommendations for appropriate repair or replacement procedures.
- Support warranty assessment and technical evaluation of vehicle repair and replacement claims.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, technical teams, service centers, and other departments to resolve technical issues and escalated complex cases when necessary.
- Assist in investigating recurring technical issues and identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance on EV maintenance procedures, repair standards, diagnostic processes, and safety requirements.
- Support the implementation of technical service bulletins, product updates, recalls, service campaigns, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Assist in monitoring vehicle and service performance, including repair turnaround time, recurring issues, warranty concerns, and technical cases.
- Prepare technical reports, diagnostic findings, service documentation, and case summaries.
- Assist in training and providing technical guidance to service technicians and aftersales personnel on EV systems, diagnostics, and safety procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and safety procedures when working with high-voltage EV systems and components.
- Maintain accurate records of technical cases, repairs, warranty concerns, and vehicle diagnostics.
- Stay updated on EV technology, diagnostic tools, repair procedures, technical standards, and emerging industry developments.
- Support continuous improvement of technical processes and aftersales service quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in automotive technical service, aftersales, vehicle diagnostics, or a related technical role.
- Experience working with electric vehicles is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of electric vehicle technology, including:
- EV powertrain systems
- High-voltage battery systems
- Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- EV charging systems and infrastructure
- Electric motors and controllers
- Vehicle electrical and electronic systems
- Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Experience using automotive diagnostic tools, service management systems, and technical software.
- Experience in warranty assessment, technical claims, or aftersales support is an advantage.
- Highly computer literate with strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn emerging EV technologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills, particularly when working with technicians, service centers, dealers, and internal teams.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, diagnostic reports, and service procedures.
- Willingness to work in a hands-on automotive service environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with an EV manufacturer, distributor, or automotive dealership.
- Experience supporting authorized service centers or dealer networks.
- Knowledge of Philippine automotive regulations and EV industry standards.
- Technical certifications related to EV maintenance, automotive diagnostics, or high-voltage systems are an advantage.
- Experience with EV diagnostic equipment and high-voltage safety procedures.
- Experience supporting EV product launches, technical campaigns, or new vehicle introductions is highly preferred.
