Private Advertiser is seeking an APAC Technical Infrastructure Lead to oversee the APAC data centre, mentor engineers, and drive strategic infrastructure initiatives across on‑prem and cloud environments. The role involves cross‑regional collaboration, IT policy adherence, and vendor management in a global context.
The role is hybrid, with occasional travel to APAC sites, and requires strong Microsoft platform expertise and project leadership capabilities.
The APAC Technical Infrastructure Lead is a senior position reporting to the Global Head of Infrastructure and is responsible for running the IT Infrastructure and support team in APAC as well as extended infrastructure suppliers globally. The Infrastructure team is a dynamic, global team designing, procuring, delivering, and supporting the production computer infrastructure to meet the substantial growth needs of the business. The team is also essential in our deployment of all new equipment and upgrades to hardware and software.
This is a hybrid role with 80% Technical 20% managerial.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the APAC Infrastructure estate, mentoring the existing engineers and helping to define how our business purchases, supports and renews our production computer systems. Along with this responsibility, you will oversee people management, work delivery, project management, product definition, and overall team health and efficiency.
Projects will be mainly Asia but will have input to support European systems and projects as needed.
Successful candidates will possess strong Microsoft systems skills and project management delivery experience.
There may be some international travel required to APAC offices but this would be minimal.
Responsible for the operation of the APAC data centre along with the replication to the DR site and testing the reliability of the solution
Work closely with Sourcing, Capacity Strategy, Data Centre Engineering, Site Reliability and other Computer peers to deliver sustainable lifecycle deployment and management strategy across infrastructure products and features.
Lead the IT Infrastructure team in the APAC region and mentor the team members.
Responsible for maintenance duties on Microsoft 365, and local file servers , Application servers, Backup, Email, Web servers and PCs.
Responsible to maintain and adhere to IT policies and standards as described in ISO 27001 documentations and it’s continue updating due to technological changes.
Responsible to perform stock control on all IT accessories, suppliers, stationery and media
Infrastructure Skills required:
Ideally Microsoft Certification and cisco CCNA
Microsoft Technologies (Exchange, AD, Windows Server, etc.), SharePoint Online, Teams, Office 365.
Backup solutions and antivirus management and investigation
Network Troubleshooting. Routing, WAN and LAN, Unified Communications
Network Security and Firewalls Meraki , Palo Alto, Sonicwall
Network Architecture & Design, VMware / Hyper V Virtualization Veeam backup.
ISO 27001 and ITIL framework.
5+ years’ deployment, diagnosis, and management experience on Microsoft platforms.
5+ years working with development/engineering groups in configuring applications from a systems engineering perspective.
Experience building distributed, fault-tolerant services.
Experience in project management, plans, resource management, sizing, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
Cyber Security to include penetration testing, cyber essentials, firewall, intrusion detection, people training/awareness.
Supplier management including reviewing contracts, performance reviews, leading on renewals, good negotiation skills, exit and migrating to new suppliers.
Assist with budget management, familiar with CAPEX and OPEX management, forecasting, assisting with invoice approvals, cost estimates for kit, software, professional services, and refresh programs.
Reviewing and identifying operational cost-saving initiatives.
Build scalable, reliable, and efficient mechanisms required to meet our rapidly increasing demand for computing resources.
Experience in disaster recovery systems, strategy, and delivery.
Provide effective strategy for data collection, establish rational metrics and create a plan to analyze and report on relevant business drivers and KPIs.
Lead project scoping, roadmap, and architecture discussions with business stakeholders and Infrastructure leadership.
Long-term strategic responsibility for on-premise Infrastructure and Cloud Computing.
Work closely with Sourcing, Capacity Strategy, Data Center Engineering, Site Reliability, to deliver sustainable lifecycle deployment and management strategy across infrastructure products & features.
Great communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
Manage team growth, coach individual team members, effectively manage performance, and clearly articulate team strategy to management chain.
Highly detail-oriented engineer who thrives on process creation and leading change.
Alignment of Infrastructure strategy and planning with the company's business goals.
Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality, diverge from each other, or diverge from business and Infrastructure strategies.
