Job summary

Hellmann is seeking an IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain Linux and Windows server environments across Asia Pacific. The position bridges development and operations to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure.

You will join the Regional IS Services Team, working with cross-functional colleagues on upgrades, capacity planning, and automation using Bash and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in IT-related area.
• Minimum 5 years of IT-related work experience.
• Proven server engineer/ sysadmin experience with Linux and Windows.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, certificates).
• Hands-on virtualization experience (VMware, AHV).
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Excellent problem solving and teamwork with good English.

About The Job

The IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT infrastructures that integrate software, hardware, and network components to meet the organization's technological and operational needs. This role uniquely bridges the gap between development and operations, focusing on ensuring cohesive and efficient functionality across the entire IT infrastructure. The IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer collaborates closely with various teams to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of systems while contributing to the continuous improvement of infrastructure processes.

• As a member of the Regional IS Services Team, the incumbent will handle various supporting and troubleshooting roles within the Asia Pacific region.
• We seek a skilled Server Engineer with expertise in both Linux and Windows server environments, along with experience in VMware and AHV, to join our team. As a Server Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our server infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability across diverse platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both Linux (must have) and Windows operating systems, networking protocols, virtualization technologies, and server hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows server infrastructure to support business-critical applications and services.
• Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance and ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including hardware failures, software glitches, and performance degradation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement server upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect server infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
• Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) and configuration management tools.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in server engineering and incorporate them into the infrastructure design and maintenance process.

Required Skills, Experience, And Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in IT-related area.
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in IT-related field.
• Proven experience as a Server Engineer or Systems Administrator, with a focus on Linux-based and Windows-based environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, and administration.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Certificate services).
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and AHV.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues in a timely manner.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with a good command of the English language.
