ING Philippines is seeking a Team Lead to guide a group of backend engineers delivering secure, scalable, and resilient banking solutions. You will lead delivery while staying hands-on, mentor engineers, and shape technical direction in collaboration with Product Owners and architects.

You\'ll manage 10–12 engineers, drive modern practices, and foster ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning across cloud-native, microservices, and secure software development.

As a Team Lead, you will lead a team of 10‑12 backend engineers while remaining actively involved in software delivery and technical decision‑making. You’ll balance people leadership with hands‑on engineering, helping your team deliver high‑quality solutions while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and Engineering Leaders, you’ll guide delivery priorities, support architectural decisions, and help drive the adoption of modern engineering practices.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience within software engineering teams

Technical Expertise – Must Have

• Strong backend engineering experience using Java (Java 11+ preferred)
• Experience developing applications using Kotlin
• Deep expertise with Spring Framework and Spring Boot
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture
• Experience with Azure and cloud‑based development environments
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and software delivery automation
• Experience with Git and modern source control practices
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
• Strong understanding of software design principles, object‑oriented programming, and secure software development practices

Technical Expertise – Preferred

• Financial services or banking industry experience
• Experience with SQL databases, JPA, and Hibernate
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Maven, and related engineering toolchains
• Knowledge of reliability engineering and operational excellence practices
